Our Story

From the very beginning, Shalee knew she was locked in sooner than he was. While Marshall's intentions to date or be dating were no more or less intentional than hers, he knew that she was golden and that he had to be clear and precise. Her presence elevated everything for me. It wasn’t just about finding someone; it became an effort to discover sincere and genuine love. But let’s be absolutely clear: God has been, and will always be, at the forefront of our union.

Our journey together has been a beautiful collage of faith, belief, courage, commitment, self-discipline, discovery, and openness. We didn’t just accept love as it’s often defined; we had to define it for ourselves. Love wasn’t something to take at face value but to shape and craft to fit our narrative. We had to ask ourselves what love felt like, what it looked like, what it smelled like, and most importantly, what it meant to us.

In building our relationship, we had to find our own hue around love—something uniquely ours. Part of that was understanding how to weave our children into our story, making them part of the love we’ve built. It’s been a process where we’ve had to be the plumbers, the electricians, the architects, and the designers. We've paved this road together, but always under God’s direction. His leadership has been key in guiding us through.

Through it all, we’ve come to understand that celebrating each other’s differences is essential. It’s these differences that have allowed us to truly understand one another and build something beautiful. Together, we are creating a love story that is authentic, purposeful, and entirely our own.
